Our Manifesto

EAT ALASKA.

AlaskaFoodie was built to solve a single fundamental question for every resident and traveler in the 49th state: What should I eat in Alaska, and where should I get it?

Why AlaskaFoodie Exists

The traditional way to find food in Alaska is broken. You search Google, sift through outdated menus, check three different social accounts to see if a seasonal fish shack in Seward is even open, and guess whether a four-star rating reflects quality seafood or merely low expectations.

AlaskaFoodie replaces that friction with a fast, highly visual, location-aware platform engineered specifically for Alaska’s unique geography, seasonal shifts, and wild harvest calendars.

Our Core Principles

  • 01Never Invent Information: Every data point originates from verified official websites, direct owner submissions, and editorial fact-checking.
  • 02Editorial Independence: No restaurant can pay for a ★ AlaskaFoodie Pick badge or favorable review. Advertising is always transparently labeled.
  • 03Signature Dish Recommendations: We don't just list addresses; our signature What to Order tells you the exact plate that makes a restaurant special.
  • 04Seasonal Honesty: Alaska has too many seasonal operators to assume year-round schedules. We track and verify seasonal operating dates.

The Bigger Vision

AlaskaFoodie is more than a guide—it is an evolving structured database of Alaska’s culinary ecosystem connecting restaurants, dishes, ingredients, communities, and seasonal events into a single unified platform.
